bonprix expands premium segment and launches knitwear capsule collection with sustainable cashmere
press release
•15.09.2022
High quality and durability, natural materials and timeless designs: these are the attributes that international fashion company bonprix will be focusing on even more in its premium segment in future. Just in time for the start of the autumn/winter 2022/23 season, bonprix is offering its customers an exclusive knitwear collection in which sustainable cashmere (The Good Cashmere Standard® (GCS)) plays a leading role. The fashion brand is also planning new premium-quality highlights for the coming seasons.
Until now, bonprix's premium segment has mainly offered elaborately crafted pieces and special styles in the area of occasion wear and festive clothing. With its current knitwear collection, the company is setting a new focus and presenting modern interpretations of premium classics made from 100 per cent natural materials.
‘We sense that our customers are becoming increasingly conscious consumers of fashion and want basics that are durable, high-quality and produced in a more sustainable manner. We are responding to this desire with our capsule collection featuring sustainable cashmere, while remaining true to our excellent price-performance ratio,’ explains Rien Jansen, Managing Director of Purchasing, Marketing and Retail at bonprix Handelsgesellschaft.
The collection
The Premium Capsule Collection consists of timeless feel-good pieces such as jumpers, cardigans, ponchos, scarves and hats. The material is a fine blend of The Good Cashmere Standard® (GCS) certified sustainable cashmere and high-quality merino wool. Classic cuts and elements – such as cable knit patterns or a Troyer collar with zip – combine with harmonious colour shades and muted earth tones to give these classics a look that is both elegant and timelessly modern.
The Good Cashmere Standard®
The Good Cashmere Standard® (GCS) is an independent standard for sustainable cashmere developed by the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) in collaboration with animal welfare and industry experts. It promotes the welfare of cashmere goats and contributes to improving working conditions for cashmere farmers. At the same time, it contains regulations for protecting the environment.
Outlook for the premium segment
bonprix intends to continue offering exclusive pieces and fashion basics that can be worn for a long time in the coming seasons. The fashion company is planning premium highlights featuring silk and linen for the Spring/Summer 2023 collection, with another premium knitwear collection to follow in Winter 2023.
Rien Jansen is convinced: ‘High-quality, durable garments also contribute to more conscious and sustainable consumption, which is a high priority for bonprix and our customers. With the exclusive knitwear collection and The Good Cashmere Standard® (GCS), we are setting new trends in our premium segment, which we will continue to promote in the future.’
